I would like to welcome you to Augher Central Primary School's website. The school is situated in the heart of the Clogher Valley community on the outskirts of Augher Village. We recently celebrated 75 years at the heart of the community providing high quality education in a stimulating and caring learning environment. We believe each child is special and unique with their own gifts and talents, in Augher Central we are a family and we work in partnership to provide the best possible education for each child in our care.
Augher Central Primary is a very exciting place to be as we have just completed a school extension providing much needed additional facilities for pupils and staff. Pupils received their Green Eco Flag and Action Cancer's Gold Award for healthy lifestyle promotion. All our P4 and P5 pupils are currently learning a Wind or Brass instrument. We have just hosted a wonderful performance of Pandemonium in Pantoland, which was a tremendous success, we are so proud of our fabulous and talented pupils.
The school continues to have an excellent relationship with the wider community and enjoys the support and active involvement of parents and families who are kept informed of the happenings within the school community via monthly newsletters, homework dairies, annual reports and parent-teacher interviews. We operate an open-door policy and would encourage parents to come along and speak with staff if we can be of any help. Our local churches and ministers come along to our weekly assemblies and play an important role in school life. We are supported by many of the local charities, sports' teams and businesses - together we help make Augher Central a wonderful school.
In 2015 we opened a wonderful new extension providing a multi-purpose hall, new classroom, toilets and entrance foyer, making our school even better. We have started a new Breakfast Club and After School club to help facilitate parents with childcare and have plans to extend this in the future. Currently parents can avail of Breakfast Club from 8:15am and then after school facilities operate between 2-4pm and we also have a supervised homework club Monday-Thursday 4-5pm. In October 2016 we have completed the next stage in our school building project, opening an Outdoor Play area, multi-purpose teaching room, stores for our assembly hall and a Principal's office. We have a wonderful, well resourced school and continually strive to keep improving and expanding our facilities. Please contact the office for further details
I hope you will enjoy browsing through our website and we do invite any prospective parents and pupils to contact the school and come for a tour around.
