I would like to welcome you to Augher Central Primary School's website. The school is situated in the heart of the Clogher Valley community on the outskirts of Augher Village. This year we celebrate 75 years at the heart of the community providing high quality education in a stimulating and caring learning environment.
Augher Central Primary is a very exciting place to be as we have just completed a school extension providing much needed additional facilities for pupils and staff. Pupils are currently working towards achieving our ‘Green Flag’ as an Eco-School, and we are thrilled to be awarded Action Cancer’s ‘Gold Award’ for healthy lifestyle promotion.
The school continues to have an excellent relationship with the wider community and enjoys the support and active involvement of parents and families who are kept informed of the happenings within the school community via monthly newsletters, homework dairies, annual reports and parent-teacher interviews. We operate an open-door policy and would encourage parents to come along and speak with staff if we can be of any help.
We are very excited about our new website which will be kept up-to-date on a regular basis and will help us become a more eco-friendly school as we reduce our paper usage. There will also be resources for pupils to encourage their learning and development.
Augher Central Primary School is a Controlled Primary School, which is situated about half a mile north of Augher Village. The school enjoys an idyllic, spacious site, which is overlooked by the historic Augher Castle to the front, the Blackwater River and its river walk to the rear and in the distance Knockmany Forest can be seen. We currently have four classrooms; P1, P2 & P3, P4 & P5 and P6 & P7. Mrs Wilson also provides withdrawal support teaching in the mornings. We have a wide variety of after-school clubs which run from 2 – 4pm on various days. I hope you will enjoy browsing through our website and we do invite any prospective parents and pupils to contact the school and come for a tour around.
The school was delighted with their ‘eti’ report which was published in June 2013 ‘ Please Download the file here
